Engineering is one of the biggest segments of Indian industries. Indian engineering exports denote a growth of over 24%. Moreover, with emerging sectors like automotive, industrial goods and infrastructure, including a skilled technical personnel pool, engineering exports are poised to grow at a rate of 15% to 20% over following years. The most of Indian engineering exports destinations are Europe and North America that account for approx. 45% of the total exports.

Factors contributing to the growth of this sector:

  • The average labor and production cost is significantly lower than other countries.
  • There are ample raw material resources to meet the demand for engineering inputs.

  2. Industrial Machinery including electrical machinery- 23.85%
  3. Iron and steel and products made of iron and steel- 22.44%
  4. Non-ferrous metals and products made of non-ferrous metals– 11.25%
  5. other- 10%
